The circuit honoured Dick John in 2001 with the ‘Dick Johnson Straight’ after his last competitive drive which was completed in a V8 Supercar at the Queensland 500 with Steve Johnson. Queensland Raceway has great spectator viewing due to its flat layout of the circuit and viewing hills.
